Description

 

Cho-oyu is the world’s 6th highest mountain, located just west of Everest and Lhotse along the Nepali- Tibetan border. This is a straightforward climb and not technically demanding. The mountain is an excellent choice for mountaineers seeking to climb their first 8,000m peak.

We’ll drive to the Chinese Base Camp via Kodari and Nyalam, acclimatising enroute. After installation of Base Camp and necessary preparation team will head to Advance Base Camp at 5,700m. On crossing steep moraines Camp I will be establish at 6,400m.

Camp II will be placed at 7,000m after crossing a ridge and ascension of 50m headwall. At 7,500m next camp III will be placed on the northwest face. The summit day will be long and arduous, requiring an extra push to the true summit on the far end of the high snowfield.

After the summit, team will disassemble all the placed high camps and return to Base Camp. Keeping Base Camp clean team will leave to Kathmandu.

Itinerary

 

Cho-oyu Expedition Itinerary:

Day01.  Arrive at T.I.A. (Kathmandu) and transfer to the hotel.
Day02-04. Final Preparation and administrative formalities.
Day05.  Drive to Kodari and transfer to Zhangmu O/N in hotel.
Day06.  Drive to Nyalam O/N in hotel.
Day07.  Nyalam: Acclimatize and rest O/N in hotel.
Day08.  Drive to Tingri O/N in Camp.
Day09.  Tingri: Acclimatize and rest O/N in camp.  
Day10.  Drive to Chinese Base Camp O/N in camp.
Day11-12. Trek to Advance Base Camp.
Day13-30. Climbing period.
Day31.  Advance BC to BC O/N in camp.
Day32.  Dive back to Tingri O/N in camp.
Day33.  Drive back to Zhangmu O/N in hotel.
Day34.  Drive to Kathmandu O/N in hotel.
Day35.  Reserve day
